Edison SpA – www.edison.it
Edison is a leading Italian operator in the energy sector, active
in the supply, production and sale of electric power and gas.
Edison has been a protagonist of the free market for electric power and gas since the early 1990s. Today it has a 20.8% share of the electric power market and a 15.7% share of the natural gas market.
With its 2007-2012 Industrial Plan, Edison aims to strengthen
its role as a leading operator in the fields of electric power
and hydrocarbons through the realisation of trans-national
infrastructure for the importation of natural gas, its activities
in hydrocarbon exploration and production and further strengthening
in the electricity sector, where particular attention will
be paid to renewable energy sources. |

DEPA
- www.depa.gr
The Public Gas Corporation (DEPA) was founded in September 1988.
Today 65% of DEPA belongs to the Greek state and the remaining
35% is owned by Hellenic Petroleum S.A.
DEPA controls the importation and marketing of natural gas, along with sale to consumers and, finally, everything that regards its transport, storage and extraction (through a subsidiary).
Lately DEPA has gone through a period of deep change, driven
by the necessity of transforming it into a group of dynamic,
competitive companies that, together, could contribute better
to Greece's growth. In particular, DESFA SA and EDA SA were
created as wholly owned DEPA subsidiaries. The former is responsible
for the extraction and transmission of natural gas and the latter
for its distribution. |
