OPEN SEASON PROCEDURE INFORMATION
TO ALLOCATE FIRM FORWARD FLOW CAPACITY OF THE POSEIDON PIPELINE
Considering that:

Edison S.p.A and the Public Gas Corporation
of Greece S.A. (DEPA) are jointly developing an interconnecting
pipeline and related facilities between the Greek and
Italian gas network systems (the Poseidon Pipeline), for
the import in Italy of natural gas through Greece; |

| • |
Edison and DEPA have obtained, on behalf of IGI Poseidon
S.A. (i.e. the company incorporated under Greek law for
the purpose of building, owning and operating the Poseidon
Pipeline), an exemption from TPA access provisions for
the initial capacity of the Poseidon Pipeline (i.e., 1.015
MNm3/h), and for a period of 25 years under
certain conditions. |

The Exemption Decree - adopted by the Italian Ministry
of Economic Development on 21 June 2007, following the
EU Commission Decision of 22 May 2007 - establishes that
Edison and DEPA are required, on behalf of IGI Poseidon
S.A., to perform an Open Season
Procedure, to be approved by the Italian and Greek
Energy Regulatory Authorities, to allocate to third parties
a quota of the additional firm forward flow (from Greece
to Italy) capacity (i.e. capacity in excess of the Exempted
Capacity) of the Poseidon Pipeline. |

The Italian and Greek Authorities have considered appropriate
to provide for two different regulations concerning the
Open Season procedure, (i) one, already approved, establishing
the main terms and conditions governing the Poseidon Pipeline
Open Season Procedure (the OS
Procedure Regulation), and (ii) one establishing
the main terms and conditions of the agreements regarding
the Open Season Procedure (the OS
Agreements Regulation) to be approved in the course
of the procedure. |
Therefore:
Edison and Depa with the present advice inform that the Open
Season Procedure for the Poseidon Pipeline starts on 20/06/2008.
The Open Season Notice and the Terms and Conditions of the Poseidon
Pipeline Open Season Procedure (the General
Rules) are published and available
in the download area.
Interested parties are invited to express their interest in
participation in the Poseidon Pipeline Open Season Procedure,
according to the provisions of the Open Season Procedure Regulation
and the General Rules by registered mail anticipated via fax
within 19/09/2008.
